Dorothy Krasa Cholak, 98, of Meadville, passed away peacefully Saturday, March 18, 2023 at Embassy of Park Avenue. She was born on October 31, 1924 in Conneautville, Pa., a daughter of the late James F. Krasa and Kristina Uzlik Krasa. Upon graduating from Meadville High School in 1942, Dorothy worked briefly as a telephone operator for the local telephone company. During World War II, she worked for several years in Cleveland for Thompson Aircraft. After returning to Meadville, she married her beloved husband John Cholak in 1946. He preceded her in death in 2012. Dorothy was happiest spending time with her family and friends, raising four sons while enjoying traveling, gardening, card clubs, golf, and bowling. In later years, she enjoyed working as an Avon representative. She was a member of St. Agatha Roman Catholic Church in Meadville. In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by a grandson, Sam Cholak, three sisters; Alice, Mae, and Esther; and four brothers, Frank, John, Joe, and Bill. She will be dearly missed by her family which includes four sons, John G. Cholak of Anchorage, Thomas A. Cholak (Brenda) of Tucson, Dennis R. Cholak (Carol) of Meadville, and David M. Cholak (Christina) of Conneautville. She is survived by a grandson, Jacob Cholak (Emma) of Portland, Maine; two granddaughters, Andrea Grodzki (Adam) Tucson; Emily Stephens (Jon) of Jackson, Wy; a great grandson, Rolan Stephens, also of Jackson; and several great nieces and nephews. Family and friends are welcome to call on Saturday, March 25, from 11:00am to Noon at Ryan M. Warren Funeral Home and Cremation Services, Inc., 544 Chestnut Street, Meadville. The funeral service will follow at Noon at the funeral home with Father Jeffrey Lucas, officiating. Burial will take place in Evergreen Cemetery, Harmonsburg. Memorial donations may be made in Dorothy's memory to a charity of the donor's choice.   2. My condolences to the Cholak Family. Dorothy was a good friend of my mom, Gloria McMahon Seitz. Their friendship lasted throughout their lifetime. I remember you mom coming to south TEXAS to visit my mom and on one occasion I visited your parents as I went to Meadville to visit the town of my mom’s birth. Your mom was always very sweet, kind and caring. May her memory be a blessing.
