Donald Edward Cauvel, 83, of Rocky Grove, passed away on October 3, 2026, at UPMC Northwest following a brief illness.
Born on June 27, 1943,he was the son of the late Clarence and Opal Cauvel.
Don was an avid sports fan who faithfully followed the Pittsburgh Pirates, Pittsburgh Steelers, and NASCAR. He had a deep love for the outdoors and enjoyed hunting, fishing, and tending to his garden. In his younger years, he was a passionate pool player and competed successfully in several tournaments. While he had many interests throughout his life, his greatest joy came from spending time with his grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
He is survived by his daughter, Jodi Bevier and her husband, Doug Bevier; seven grandchildren, Tom Cutchall, Kathryn Turner and her husband, John Turner, Joseph Martin and his wife Jayme Nguyen, Carlene Cauvel, Scotty Schrader, Brianna Bevier, and Haydon Bevier; two great-grandchildren, Levi Turner and Ainsley Turner; numerous nieces and nephews; two dear friends, Joe Osborne and Jim Rodgers.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his daughter, Dawn Dee Schrader; his brothers, Gary Cauvel, Larry Cauvel, and Ron Cauvel; and his sister, Sandra Rhodes.
Don will be remembered for his love of family, his appreciation for the outdoors, and the many memories he created with those who knew and loved him.
No public services will be held at this time and funeral arrangments are in the care of Gardinier-Warren Funeral Home and Cremation Services, Inc., 1315 Chestnut Street, Franklin, PA.
A Celebration of Don’s Life will be announced at a later date.
