Dennis L. Brooks

Dennis L. Brooks, 57, of Union City, passed away, Monday, January 31, 2022 at UPMC Hamot. He was born on August 28, 1964 in Union City, a son of Henry E. Brooks and Judith M. Gaber Brooks. He attended Union City Schools and was employed as a truck driver as well as doing handyman work and building for family and friends in his neighborhood. Dennis enjoyed collecting guns, hunting, riding four wheelers, bonfires, but most of all he enjoyed time with his grandchildren. He is survived by his wife, Jennifer Leavens of Union City; five children, Heather Brooks of Union City, Mike Mahanes and his wife Sam of Marine Corp Base, Hawaii; Shawn Brooks and his wife Lisa of Union City, Stephanie Capron and her husband Ryan of Cambridge Springs, and Jacob Brooks of Union City; grandchildren, Riley, Devin, and Noah Capron, Isaac and Lacee Mahanes, and Madalynn, Jason, Liam, and Hunter Brooks; siblings, Robert Brooks and his wife Vickie of Corry, Jody Miller and her husband Glenn of East Springfield, Pam Fish and her husband Troy of Union City, and Laura Ahrens of Erie; and many nieces and nephews. Dennis was preceded in death by his father; Henry E. Brooks and his wife Linda; a brother, Tony; a sister, Cindy; and a nephew, DJ Nunemaker. Private services will be announced at a late date. In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorial donations may be made to a charity of the donor's choice or take a moment to do a good deed for someone in need.
