Delores Y. Young, 72, of 8372 Candlewood Road, Largo, Fla., died at 5:53 p.m. Jan. 26, 2009, in Seminole, Fla. Born Aug. 14, 1936, in Franklin, she was the daughter of the late Marcus L. Hutcheson and Pearl J. Mayes. Ms. Young worked from 1969 to 2008 as an Avon representative, and from 1993 to 2008 as a Wal-Mart associate. She moved to Mentor, Ohio, in 1958 and stayed there until she moved to the Tampa Bay area in 1980. Ms. Young was an animal lover and Elvis fan. Ms. Young is survived by a son, Rick Young of Seminole, Fla.; five grandchildren, Jeanette Cook and her husband, Brain, of Seminole, Fla., John Cupp of Geneva, Ohio, Michelle Amato of Wake Forest, N.C., and Steven Young and Jeffrey Young, both of Chardon, Ohio; and five great-grandchildren. In addition to her parents, Ms. Young was preceded in death by a brother, Bobby Hutcheson; and a daughter, Lacinda Cupp. There will be no visitation. Funeral services will be at 1 p.m. Wednesday at Gardinier Funeral Home Inc., with the Rev. Richard E. Cauvel Jr., of the Congregation of Jehovah's Witnesses, officiating. Interment will be at the Lupher Chapel Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, the family recommends donations be sent to SPCA of Tampa Bay (727) 586-3591.
