Darrell R. "Skip" Kimmy

May 29, 1955 ~ June 26, 2026

Born in: Union City, Pennsylvania
Resided in: Wattsburg, Pennsylvania

We are deeply saddened to announce the passing of Darrell R. “Skip” Kimmy, age 71, of Wattsburg, who left us on June 26, 2026, following an unfortunate accident. Born on May 29, 1955, in Union City, Skip was the beloved son of Calvin R. and Ella Jean McClelland Kimmy.

Skip married the love of his life, Gail E. Genung, on May 15, 1976, and together they celebrated an incredible 50 years of marriage. He was a dedicated tractor mechanic, working tirelessly as a self-employed craftsman in the agriculture industry. For 25 years, he also served as an Amity Township Supervisor, retiring this past December.

A member of the Union City Christian and Missionary Alliance Church, Skip was a fixture in the community. He dedicated many years to the Wattsburg Fair Board, where he was known for manning his pulling sled during local events. Skip enjoyed the great outdoors, whether it was hunting or riding his four-wheeler and snowmobiles. He cherished time with his family, especially at their beloved cabin in the woods. Known affectionately as “Mr. Skip” at St. Boniface preschool, he was always the one with candy in his pocket for the kids.

Skip will be lovingly remembered by his wife, Gail; his children, Erin (Jeremiah) Hinkson of Wattsburg and Nate (Amanda) Kimmy of McKean; and his cherished grandchildren, Isaac and Emily Hinkson, Chance, Clay, and Ashlynn Kimmy. He is also survived by his brothers, Doug (Tammy) Kimmy of Wattsburg and Dean (Karla) Kimmy of Union City, as well as sisters-in-law Theresa Kimmy of Wattsburg, Linda (Mike) Anthony, and Rita (Marty) Grieshaw, both of Union City. He will also be missed by his Amity Township family, Rob, Tom, and Anne, along with many nieces, nephews, and friends.

Family and friends will gather for visitation to celebrate Skip’s life on Tuesday, June 30th, from 2:00 PM to 4:00 PM and again from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM at the Union City Christian and Missionary Alliance Church, located at 2 Dowman Street, Union City. A funeral service will be held on Wednesday, July 1st, at 11:00 AM, at the church with Pastor Tom Hunsberger officiating. Skip will be laid to rest at Lawn Cemetery of Beaverdam.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made to the Wattsburg Hose Company, 14415 Main Street, Wattsburg, PA 16442, or to the Union City Christian and Missionary Alliance Church, 2 Dowman Street, Union City, PA 16438.

Skip will forever remain in our hearts, and he will be deeply missed by all who knew him.
