It is with great sadness that I must write this, but it is also with great joy that we had a wonderful Aunt in our Aunt Jeannie. She was a beautiful, lovely, and refined lady.. always sweet and loved a good laugh. Our thoughts and love are with our cousins at this time… Becky and Family
Darla “Jeanne” Rhines, 80, passed away on October 12, 2026, surrounded by her loving family.
Born in Franklin, PA, she was the daughter of the late Chester E. and Ester Latshaw.
Jeanne attended Franklin High School, where she met the love of her life, Glenn W. Rhines, Sr. They shared 48 wonderful years of marriage until his passing on November 23, 2013. Together, they built a life centered on love, family, travel, and countless treasured memories.
Jeanne enjoyed a fulfilling career in banking, beginning as a teller and advancing to Vice President of Consumer Lending. In retirement, she found joy in reading, collecting Santa figurines, and spending time at the family cottage on the Allegheny River. She took great pride in creating beautiful homes, including a lovingly renovated farmhouse in Sewickley, PA. She cherished traveling to visit family, and above all, her greatest happiness came from spending time with her six beloved grandchildren.
Left to cherish her memory are her three children: Jessica L. Rhines and her husband, Thomas Sardinia, of Orlando, FL; Glenn W. Rhines, Jr., and his wife, Nancy, of Summit, NJ; and Brian G. Rhines and his wife, Jane, of Charlotte, NC. She will also be lovingly remembered by her six grandchildren: Nicholas and Callista Sardinia, Eric and Nina Rhines, and Emma and Raymond Rhines.
In addition to her parents and husband, Jeanne was preceded in death by her sisters, Sandra Shope, Doris Kahle, Helen Riddle, and Betty Osborn; her infant sister, Dorothy Mays; and her brother, Sneede Mays.

I will never forget the beautiful Summer mornings Jeanne and I spent on the porch at her cottage just talking, solving everyone’s problems, my dog Sugar there too. Nothing earth shaking, just two good friends who never ran out of things to talk about and a dog .
