COCHRANTON - Concetta (Connie) Andrews, 73, of 24116 Highway 322, Cochranton, died Wednesday, Dec. 9, 2009, at Meadville Medical Center surrounded by her loving family, after a courageous battle with cancer.Born in Meadville on April 21, 1936, she was a daughter of Anthony and Philomena Basile Pero. She married Harold Andrews on Dec. 31, 1953.She was a graduate of Meadville High School. Before retirement, she worked for Cochranton Elementary School, owned Carousel Card and Gift Shop and worked for Cochranton Drug.Her lifelong passion was her family, and her homemaking skills were her priorities. She loved traveling, reading, crocheting afghans and gardening. She was the former secretary of Northwest Pennsylvania Barbed Wire Association.She was a member of Cochranton Presbyterian Church.Survivors include her husband, Harold, of 56 years; a son, Harold (Andy) Andrews Jr. and his wife, Laura, of Chardon, Ohio; a daughter, Debra Caffrey of Charlottesville, Va.; four sisters, Carol Main and her husband, Ralph, of Orlando, Fla., and Viola Mook, JoAnn Potvin and her husband, Frank, and Patricia Cribbs and her husband, Dick, all of Meadville; five brothers, Anthony Pero and his wife, Sally, of West Union, Ohio, Patsy Pero and his wife, Mona, of Meadville, Sam Pero and his wife, Carol, of Tennessee, Michael Pero and his wife, Shirley, of Hollidaysburg, and Angelo Pero and his wife, Brenda, of Meadville; six grandchildren, Nicole Caccavo Bonnett and her husband, John, Tiffany D'Onofrio and her husband, Alex, Sean Caffrey, Eric Caffrey, Bryan Andrews and Tyler Andrews; a great-grandchild, Ava D'Onofrio; and several nieces and nephews.She was preceded in death by two sisters, Rose Drake and Mary Lasher; an infant child; a brother, Albert Pero; and her parents.Calling hours will be Friday from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. at Roofner-Collins Funeral Home Inc., 544 Chestnut St., Meadville.The funeral and committal service will be Saturday at 11 a.m. at the funeral home, with the Rev. J. Harvey Boal of Cochranton Presbyterian Church officiating.Burial will be in Cochranton Cemetery.The family requests memorials be made to the Yolanda Barco Oncology Institute, 16792 Conneaut Lake Road, Meadville, Pa. 16335; or Hospice of Crawford County, 464 Pine St., Meadville, Pa. 16335
