Clyde Allen Rex, 78, of Polk passed away on November 25, 2024 peacefully in his residence with his family at his side.
Born on October 31, 1946, in Shippenville, he was the son of the late Clyde Clifford and Ruth Irene (Deitz) Rex.
Clyde proudly served in the United States Marine Corp during the Vietnam War Era.
He was married to Nancy M. Haylett and she preceded him in death on November 8, 2004.
In his younger years, Clyde enjoyed fishing and hunting with his family. He had a fascination with classic cars and cigars. He was talented at wood carving and enjoyed spending time with his grand kids in the garden. Although he was known to be a bit grumpy, he had a soft side for animals.
Left to cherish his memory are his children Greg Rex of Colorado, Connell Lee Rex of Polk and Kelli Lynn Galkowski of Titusville; his step children Jack Greenlee and his wife, Sue, of Oil City, Kathy Jack and her husband, Ron, of Franklin, Carol Nulph of Franklin, Sandy Brown and her husband, Glenn, of Franklin, and Pamela Pritts and her husband, Howard, of Franklin; his grandchildren Ginny Korth and her husband, Sonny, of Oil City, Corey Foster of Titusville, Blaise Rex and his wife, Sydney, of Oil City, Michael Galkowski of Titusville, Carys Galkowski of Titusville, Josh Godfrey of Polk, Vanessa Willis of Polk, Ashley Willis of Polk, Kristina Brown of Franklin, Michael Schnider and his wife, Diane of Oil City, Karissa Shoup and her husband, Nicholas, of Franklin, Jack Greenlee, Jr and his wife, Tiffany, of Franklin, Michael Pritts of Franklin, Heather Pritts of Franklin and Jenny Rex of Oil City; and his 7 great grandchildren.
In addition to his parents and his wife, he was preceded in death by his granddaughter Nikki Rex; his sister, Peggy Buchna; and his nephew Thomas Frantz.
In following with Clyde’s wishes, no public services will be observed and arrangements are under the care of the Gardinier-Warren Funeral Home and Cremation Services, Inc., 1315 Chestnut Street, Franklin, PA 16323.
