Clarence B Haylett, 83, of Sandycreek Township, passed away at 5:05 p.m. on February 3rd, 2013 in Butler at the Sunnyview Nursing Home, where he had been a resident for a short time. Born on April 24, 1929 in Raymilton, Clarence was the son of the late William R. and Minnie B. Carey Haylett. He was married to the former Shirley Ream on September 3, 1949. Clarence was a United States Army Veteran having served in the Korean War from 1950 to 1952 with the 112th Infantry Regiment and 28th Infantry Division. Clarence retired from Joy Manufacturing in 1991 where he worked as a welder for more than 22 years. He also delivered milk for Country Bell and was a furniture delivery man and carpet installer for Parker Furniture. He was a member of the Franklin Church of the Nazarene. Clarence enjoyed camping, hunting, traveling and spending time with his family. In addition to his wife, Clarence is survived by his daughters, Linda Heckman and her husband, Philip, of Irwin, PA, and Barbara Barger, of Sligo; his son, Burton Haylett and his wife Betty, of Mary Ester, Florida; and his grandchildren, Daniel Haylett of Franklin, Lynnette Glaze and her husband, Jerry, of Boston, MA, Sarah Loging of Columbia, SC, Curtis Heckman and his wife, Eileen, of Irwin, PA, Melanie Hutchison of Mary Ester, FL, Grant Heckman and his wife, Amy, of Baltimore, MD, and Jenny Barger and her friend, Patrick Wiegand, of Sligo. He is additionally survived by his great-grandchildren, Xavier, Isabella, Julianna, and Evangeline Heckman of Irwin, Hunter and Madalyn Loging of Columbia, SC, Kaleb and Abigale Wiegand of Sligo, PA, Haley Smith of Mary Esther, Fl, and Micah Heckman of Ellicott City, MD. He is also survived by his brothers, William P. Haylett of Polk, and Daryl L. Haylett and his wife, Ruth, of Sandy Lake; and his sister, Lois B. Morford of Franklin. In addition to his parents, Clarence was preceded in death by his 3 brothers, James Haylett, Elmer Haylett, and Dale Haylett; and his 2 sisters, Mary Mae Clark and Margaret Smith. Friends will be received at Gardinier Funeral Home, Inc., 1315 Chestnut St., Franklin, on Wednesday, February 6, 2013 from 7-9 PM and on Thursday, February 7, 2013 from 2-4 and 7-9 PM. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 AM Friday , February 8, 2012 at the Church of the Nazarene, with Rev. Grant Heckman pastor of the Crossroad Church of the Nazarene, Ellicott City, MD, officiating. Military honors will be accorded by the V.E.T.S. Honor Guard. Interment will be in Graham Cemetery. The family suggest that memorial contributions be made to the Franklin Church of the Nazarene, 393 Pone Lane, Franklin, PA 16323.
