Clarabelle L. Dille Clarabelle L. Dille, 88, of 351 Causeway Drive, Franklin, died at 11:45 a.m. Friday, Nov. 27, 2009, at Sugar Creek Station. Born Aug. 14, 1921, in Franklin, she was the daughter of Ada Adeline Adams and John Clark Baker Sr. She was a retired medical records clerk for Polk Center and a production clerk for CPT. Mrs. Dille was a past member of the Ladies of the Moose. She was a member of the Ladies Auxilary of the VFW and the Daughters of Union Veterans, at one time serving as treasurer. She was a founding member of the Venango County sheriff posse. She was married to Edgar Ellsworth Dille Sr. June 9. 1938, and he preceded her in death on May 28, 1996. She is survived by two children, Judy Shull and her husband Kenneth of Franklin, and Lora Shreffler of Ashland, Va.; nine grandchildren, Michael, Shannon, Chad, Ryan, Sonny, Kelly, Rindy, Shawn and Scott; as well as 11 great-grandchildren. She was the last surviving member of her immediate family. In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by her parents; a son, Edgar Ellsworth Jr.; and six brothers, Lester, Loyal, Domer, Herbert, Bernard, and John Jr. Baker. Friends may call from 3 to 7 p.m. today in Gardinier Funeral Home, Inc. Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. Tuesday in the funeral home with the Rev. John Sass, a retired United Methodist minister, officiating. Interment will follow in Graham Cemetery. Memorials may be made to the Franklin Public Library. My sympathies to the family. Lora, I have many memories of your mother from the 70s. I knew that you did the Sheriff’s Posse but never knew she was the one who helped start it. Quite a lady!
Clarabell was a wondeful neighbor on 12th St. when she and Ed lived next to my parents, Harold and Tootie Bushnell. I will never, ever forget her kindnesses at the time of my dad’s death and how good she was to my mom. Please accept my sympathy to all your family.
