Clara M. Freund

Clara M. Freund, 67, of 16371 Shady Acres, Meadville, passed away Saturday, Aug. 8, 2009, at Meadville Medical Center.Born on Feb. 2, 1942, she was the daughter of Ivan and Helen (Allen) Burchfield. She married Davis Charles Freund on Feb. 14, 1986; he preceded her in death July 15, 2005.She was a member of the Vernon Central Volunteer Fire Department, Conneaut Lake Volunteer Fire Department Station 3 and Conneaut Lake Park Volunteer Fire Department.She worked for many years as an accountant and was a homemaker.She was a member of High Street Community Church at Conneaut Lake.She enjoyed golfing and going on ocean cruises.She is survived by a son, Mark Burchfield and his wife, Denise, of Conneaut Lake; a sister, Dorothy Durney of Conneaut Lake; a stepdaughter, Jodi Ludovici and her husband, Victor, of Pittsburgh; two stepsons, Paul Freund of Meadville, and Kevin Freund and his wife, Carolyn, of Raleigh, N.C.; two grandchildren, Shane Burchfield of Conneautville and Wendy Weber of Conneaut Lake; and several nieces and nephews.In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by her parents and two brothers, Donald Burchfield and Charles Burchfield.There will be no calling hours.A memorial service will be Tuesday at 3 p.m. at High Street Community Church, 9517 Route 322, Conneaut Lake, with the Rev. Dave Meckley, pastor of High Street Community Church, officiating.Arrangements are under the direction of Roofner-Collins Funeral Home Inc., 544 Chestnut St., Meadville.
