Charlotte Andrews

September 21, 1921 ~ July 28, 2018
Born in: Meadville, Pennsylvania
Charlotte Birch Andrews, 96, of Conneaut Lake, passed away, July 28, 2018. She was a daughter of Alfred and Gertrude Birch Cotton, born on September 21, 1921.
Charlotte grew up on the family farm on Rt. 322, and attended the Birch School. She graduated from Meadville High School and then attended Edinboro College.
Charlotte married John Andrews in 1942. They were married 73 years when he passed away in 2016.
Charlotte attended the Fifth Street Presbyterian Church where she taught Sunday School for many years. She was a charter member of the Conneaut Lake Child Study club, and a former member of the Watson Run Women’s Club.
Charlotte enjoyed helping John on their farm, and camping with their friends. She and John hosted numerous family, friend, and neighborhood picnics; and reunions at their home and at the pond and campground that they built on their farm. She enjoyed crafts, needlework, and embroidered many pieces recently for her caretakers. She also enjoyed painting woodcrafts that John made.
Charlotte was preceded in death by her parents, her husband John, by her daughter, Shirley and by her sister, Esther Deissler.
Charlotte is survived by her son Ron Andrews and his wife Patty, of Meadville; her grandchildren, Corianne of San Diego, California, and Zachary and his wife Rebecca of Indiana, Pennsylvania and great grandson, Ian of Indiana, Pennsylvania, who delighted her the last three years; also several cousins.
Charlotte was beloved by her caretakers, who made her latter years so pleasant and comfortable: Alex, Deedee, Sylvia, Tina and Bonnie. They baked cookies together, went out for milkshakes, and went for rides to Lake Wilhelm and Conneaut Lake. Charlotte enjoyed pointing out history of places she knew from the last 90 years. Also, she appreciated Bryant and Ted, who helped with the yard and maintenance.
