Carolyn Patricia Thatcher

Carolyn Patricia Thatcher, 98, of Franklin went to be with her Lord and Savior peacefully at Sugar Creek Care Center on September 24, 2026 with family at her side.

Born on December 6, 1927 in Bannock, OH she was the daughter of the late Mahlon Vi and Florence (Estep) Lodge. She was the 5th child of 12.

She lived in Ohio until she married the love of her life, James Robert Thatcher on October 11, 1947. They then moved to Franklin and started their new life. He preceded her in death on November 16, 2024.

Carolyn worked as a Medical Residence Aide for Polk Center for 25 years retiring on June 24, 1988. She was an active member of Congress Hill Church of God.

She enjoyed crocheting aphagans for her family, gardening, and baking for friends and family, espeically making raisin filled cookies and peanut butter fudge. She never missed a trip to auctions, yard sales, and flea markets with her husband. Most of all, she enjoyed every moment with her children, grandchildren and great grandchildren. Carolyn and Bob also spent many summers taking their 5 grandchildren to Pymatuning camping, Rehobath Beach and Atlantic City.

Left to cherish her memory are her children, Charles Thatcher and his wife, Shirley, of Franklin and Sue Hutchison and her husband, James, of Sandy Lake; her grandchildren Michele Allgeier of Denver, CO, Sandra Moore and her husband, Abe, of Oil City, Bryan Thatcher and his wife, Denise, of Franklin, Becky Hittle and her husband, Tom, of Virginia, and Michael Hutchison and his wife, Jennifer, of Bruin, PA; her 7 great grandchildren; and her numerous great-great grandchildren. Also surviving is her sister Elizabeth Montgomery of Antrim, OH and her sister-in-law Daisy Thatcher of Bethesda, OH.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her siblings Jeannette Casterline, Juanita Laughman, Phyllis Cramblett, Elaine Bean, Emily Beal, Dale Lodge, Charles Lodge, and Willard Lodge and 2 infant sisters.

Services for Carolyn will be private and arrangements are in the care of Gardiner-Warren Funeral Home and Cremation Services, Inc., 1315 Chestnut Street, Franklin, PA.

Carolyn will be laid to rest next to her husband in Graham Cemetery.

The family would like to thank the staff of Sugar Creek Care Center for the wonderful care that Carolyn and the family received during her stay and to AseraCare for making her final moments peaceful.
