Carol Lynn Proper

Carol Lynn Proper, 83, of Union City, PA, passed away peacefully on May 27, 2025, at UPMC Hamot. Born on July 16, 1941, in Union City, she was the daughter of Arden and Dorothy Reynolds Proper.

Carol was a proud 1959 graduate of Union City High School and went on to earn her Bachelor’s Degree in Nutrition and Dietetics from Penn State University in 1963. She dedicated her career to the health of others as a registered dietitian, working for the State of New Jersey in various facilities. Carol was a beloved member of the Union City First Baptist Church.

In her free time, she enjoyed the simple pleasures in life like stamp collecting, indulging in a good dessert, dining out, and getting lost in a good book. She is survived by her two nieces, Amy Waggener of Rhode Island and Cathleen Marren of Union City, a nephew, Daniel Marren and his wife Kristen Mississippi, and two great nieces, Jessica and MaryJane Waggener. Carol was preceded in death by her parents and her two sisters, Mary Jane Adams and Sue Marren.

Family and friends are invited to gather for visitation on Friday, May 30th from 11:00 AM to 1:00 PM at Warren-Glenn Funeral Home and Cremation Services, Inc., located at 62 South Main Street, Union City. A funeral service will follow at 1:00 PM, with Pastor Rob Weaver officiating.

Carol will then be laid to rest at Loomis Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made in Carol’s memory to Second Harvest Food Bank, 1507 Grimm Drive, Erie, Pennsylvania 16501.
