Carlotta A. Fox, 78, of Franklin passed away on May 20, 2026 at LECOM Medical Center, Erie with her family at her side.
Born in Oil City on November 9, 1947, she was the daughter of the late William R. and Charlotte (Snyder) Adams.
On June 8, 1968, she married the love of her life, Jack J. Fox, and he preceded her in death on April 26, 2009.
After graduating high school, she went on to obtain her Master’s Degree in English Education by attending both Edinboro and Clarion Universities. She was an English teacher for Rocky Grove School for a number of years. She then went on to work for Venango County’s Area Agency on Aging where she eventually retired from after many years of service.
She attended the First United Methodist Church in Franklin. She loved to sing and used to sing in the Sweet Adelines group alongside other women with the same passion.
Carlotta would never be found at home as she enjoyed going for rides, putting hundreds of miles behind her as she explored the open road. If she was at home, she’d be on her porch watching the birds, reading, or enjoying the scenery. Most of all, family was her world and she enjoyed every moment shared with them.
Left to cherish her memory are her sons Bryan Fox and his wife, Diana, and Adam Fox all of Franklin; her grandchildren Olivia Barnett and her husband, Austin, of Reno, Emily Tenney and her husband, Jarrett, of Franklin, Zachary Fox of Franklin, Noah Fox of Franklin, and Kylie Fox of Franklin; her great granddaughter Ellie Barnett and a great grand baby on the way; and her brother Charles Adams and his wife, Linda, of York, PA.
No public services will be observed at this time and arrangements are in the care of the Gardinier-Warren Funeral Home and Cremation Services, Inc., 1315 Chestnut Street, Franklin, PA 16323.
Carlotta will be laid to rest next to her husband in Franklin Cemetery.

Rest in peace
It was many years later that I came to know Carlotta as we worked together at Venango County Area Agency on Aging. Carlotta oversaw a unit of care managers, and was always calm and steady through a number of difficult transitions not the least of which was that social service began converting from paper and pencil to digital record keeping. As difficult as that transition was, she maintained a focus on the client always with care and compassion. She was a blessing in an otherwise very demanding position, and I knew she often went home drained from the day’s activities.
I lost touch with her after her retirement until her son and my son became friends and I sort of reconnected. I was happy to learn that she was enjoying retirement as well as the transition to family life with her extended family.
My condolences to her family at the loss of their good hearted matriarch. She positively affected many lives, most of whom never met her face to face. I know she affected my life positively!
