Carl W. Elder

Carl W. Elder, 85, of Union City, Pennsylvania, passed away, Tuesday, March 26, 2024 at home surrounded by his loving family. He was born November 8, 1938 in Turkey City, Pennsylvania a son of Merle and Flora Anthony Elder who have both preceded him in death. He married Sandra Graham on July 9, 1983. She survives. He proudly served his country with the US Navy and was employed as a heavy equipment operator of Erie Aggregates. Carl was a member of the Union City Moose Lodge and the Union City American Legion. In his free time he enjoyed hunting, playing pool, and gambling. In addition to his loving wife, Sandra, of forty years he is survived by three daughters, Paula Jones of Florida, Darla Schreve and Husband Glenn of Corry and Karen Gioeli of Florida; four sons, Carl Lee Elder and his wife Cheryl of Wattsburg, Kevin Elder and his wife Terri of Wattsburg, Donnie Elder and his wife Tonya of Erie, and John Elder of Erie; stepdaughters, Tammy Nunemaker of Mill Village and Laurie Rohrer of Clymer, New York; several grandchildren and great grandchildren; two sisters, Beverly Elder of East Springfield and Eleanor Yarrington of Burt, New York; and brother, Ray Dean Elder and his wife Eydie of Corry. He was preceded in death by his parents; two sisters, Betty Jean and Lois; brothers, Arthur, Don, Eugene, and Robert; and an infant sister. Services for Mr. Elder will be private.
