He was born Jan. 13, 1931 in Meadville, a son of the late Karl and Emma Kindelberger Neumeyer. He married Carol A. Keeler Feb. 14, 1959; she preceded him in death March 19, 2003.
He was a trainman with the Erie Railroad from Dec. 19, 1950, until Nov. 1, 1960. He was promoted to freight conductor Nov. 2, 1960, until his retirement. He had worked with the Erie, Lackawanna and Conrail railroads.
He was a graduate of Meadville High School.
He was a member of Emmanuel United Church of Christ in Meadville. He was a veteran of the U.S. Air Force, serving from 1951 until 1955. He was a member of the Meadville Club, the Italian Civic Club, the Eagles Club and the Hunting and Fishing Club. He enjoyed playing cards and socializing with his friends. He was awaiting the birth of his fourth grandchild.
Surviving are his daughters, Debra Kearney and her husband, Gary, of Blooming Valley, and Carrie Andrews and her husband, Chris of Centerville; three grandchildren, Ashley Miller of Centerville, Kenyon Andrews of Centerville and Rachael Kearney of Meadville; two sisters, Hilda Dudenhoeffer of Inverness, Fla., and Ruth Ridgeway of Phoenix, Ariz.
He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife; a sister, Gertrude Koket Brown, and an infant sister, Elizabeth Neumeyer; and an infant brother, Walter Neumeyer.
Calling hours will be from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Sunday at Roofner-Collins Funeral Home, 544 Chestnut St., Meadville.
The funeral will be Monday at 11 a.m. at the funeral home, with the Rev. Timothy Solomon officiating.
Burial with full military honors conducted by Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 2006 will be in Roselawn Memorial Gardens.
