Betty Wyvonne Kean, 88, of 101 South 16th St., Mayfield, Ky., formerly of Cooperstown, died at 1:10 a.m., Tuesday, June 10, 2008, at Jackson Purchase Medical Center. She was born April 11, 1920, in Oakland Township. She was a member of Mayfield First United Methodist Church and a former member of Cooperstown United Methodist Church and Dempsytown (Oakland) United Methodist Church. She was also a former Eastern Star member, Senior Friends member and active in the serving circle at Mayfield First United Methodist Church. Mrs. Kean was a former employee of the Oil City Glass Plant. She is survived by her daughter, Wyvonne Frank Olsofka of Mayfield, Ky.; her sister, Charlotte Robbins of Franklin; nine grandchildren; and 14 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her mother and father, Elmer and Lanta Lesh; her husband, J. Leon Kean; her son, Jerry Kean; a granddaughter, Dawn Olsofka; two brothers, Warren and Paul Lesh; and three sisters, Winsome Spencer, Roxie Huff and infant Ester Lesh. The family will receive friends from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Friday at the Robert W. Gardinier Funeral Home Inc. in Franklin. Funeral services will be conducted at 11 a.m. Saturday in the funeral home with the Rev. Martin of the Cooperstown United Methodist Church, officiating. Interment will be at the Bethel Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests that memorials be made to Cooperstown United Methodist Church, Cooperstown, 16317 or Oakland United Methodist Church, 1431 State Route 428, Oil City, 16301.
