Betty Lou Shepard, 83, of Union City, passed away, Friday, June 7, 2024 at UPMC Hamot. She was born on June 28, 1940 in Clymer, New York, a daughter of John and Ruth Wright Hitchcock. She graduated from Clymer High School and Orra Jean Cosmetology School.. She was employed at Andromeda House, Safe Journey as a counselor, and she owned and operated the Union City Dinor. Betty enjoyed reading and watching crime mysteries, crocheting, and most of all spending time with her family and friends. Left to cherish her memory are her three daughters, Kimberly R. Sherman and her husband, Bill of Effingham, South Carolina, Christy L. Mitchell and her husband Mike of Cambridge Springs, and Kelly M. Walton of Union City; two sons, Ronald Dunlap and his wife, Jill of Venango, and Joseph Wise and his wife, Joanne of Cambridge Springs; grandchildren, Laurel Blakeslee, Tory Blakeslee, Felicia Douglass, Cameron Smith, Abigail Stephens, Jonah Wise, Benjamin Wise, and Alexis Walton; and two sisters, Sandra Croscutt of Findley Lake, and Lois Kyriss of California. She was preceded in death by her parents, granddaughter, Shannon Blakeslee, two sons in law, Jeffrey Blakeslee and David Walton; a brother, Ronald Hitchcock, and brother in law, Dale Croscutt. Family and friends are invited to attend a celebration of life on Saturday, June 15th from 1:00 pm to 4:00 pm at the Union City Christian and Missionary Alliance, 2 Dowman Street, Union City. Betty will be laid to rest at Evergreen Cemetery, Union City. Memorial donations may be made to the charity of the donor's choice.   1. When I first met you I didn’t know your name. You said I’m Betty I said you don’t look like a Betty! I think you look like a Shirley!!!! So she said I’m going to call you Judy!!!!!

    So when I speak about Shirley (Betty) that is our story. She used to come with Lexi after school on Fridays for fish. She always had a smile on her face when I saw her.
