Bessie E. Brown Bessie E. Brown, 91, of Elk Street, Franklin, passed away on July 4, 2012 at UPMC Northwest in Seneca with her family at her side. Bessie was a Christmas baby, born December 25, 1920 to the late William and Hattie Hedglin Reagle. Bessie was a homemaker. She enjoyed fishing, bowling, watching her humming birds, and her flowers. In her younger days she also enjoyed pitching horseshoes. Bessie was a lifetime member of Franklin Moose #83. She was the last surviving member of her immediate family. Bessie is survived by her two children, Mackey Beers and his wife, Emma, of Highlands, Texas, and Gayle Snyder of Franklin. She is also survived by 8 grandchildren, Mark Beers and his wife, Wanda, of Rainbow City, Alabama, Sharon Preston and her husband, Johnathan, Shannon Moyer and her husband, Jason, Britteny Everett and her husband, Blake, and Tiffeny Alderson and her husband, Treb, all of Texas, Shanda Dolan, and Chris Dolan, both of Franklin, and Kurt Rogers of Erie; and 12 great-grandchildren. She is additionally survived by her brother-in-law and sister-in-law, Ted Brown and his wife, Evelyn, of Utica; several nieces and nephews; and her constant companion, Panda, her cat, who will miss her greatly. In addition to her parents, Bessie was preceded in death by her 2 husbands, Louis Beers and Richard Brown; her sisters, Ruth Gehr, Leona Speros, Clara Berry, Viola Sproull, Mary Sisney, and Lulabell Mong; and her brothers, Lee and Ralph Reagle. As per Bessie's wishes, there will be no visitation or funeral service. The family suggests that Memorial Contributions be made to the Venango County Humane Society, PO Box 1045, Oil City PA 16301.
