Barbara R. Flint, 96, of Meadville, passed away, Sunday, May 26, 2024 . She was born October 19, 1927 in Oakland, California a daughter of Charles Leslie Byers and Irene Marie Clinton Byers. She married Frank Charles Flint on September 21, 1949.
She was a 1945 graduate of Fremont High School in Oakland, California and she was employed with Hale Brothers, H.C. Capwell's, and Pacific Gas and Electric all located in California. In 1953 she and Frank moved back to the Meadville area . They built a house in New Richmond. After her children had grown she began working outside the home and was employed with Montgomery Ward, Quality Market, The Meadville Tribune, Women's Services as a counselor, and at Meadville Medical Center as a transportation driver for patient's appointments. She did several oil paintings ,was active in her church , and was well acclaimed for her piano playing and encouraging young people to sing in church .
Barbara is survived by Sharon L. Waring and her husband John of Linesville; Leonard D. Flint and his wife Susan of Meadville, Mark R. Flint and his wife Carol of Guys Mills, and Samuel C. Flint and his friend Nathalia Allen of Meadville; She leaves 11 grandchildren, many great grandchildren; a few great great grandchildren; and a brother, Ken A.Byers of California, also nieces and nephews from California and Alaska .
She was preceded in death by her husband, Frank; her parents; and a brother, Fred L. Byers of Alaska.
A memorial service will be 1:30 pm, June 15th at the New Richmond Church.
Private burial will take place at Kingsley Cemetery, Townville.
