Barbara Ann Rugar, 74, of Union City, passed away, Sunday, February 19, 2023 at Corry Manor. She was born on June 12, 1948 in East Brady, Pennsylvania, a daughter of Joseph Potts and Mildred Potts. She married Danny Rugar and lived a loving life with him for over 45 years. She was a high school graduate and was employed with Snap-Tite in Union City for many years until her retirement. Barbara was baptized at East Brady Baptist Church and attended other churches through the years. She was a member of the Union City Moose Club and enjoyed outdoor activities, boating, and going for walks. She will be known as a caring person always helping others, and was an angel. She is survived by her husband, Danny Rugar of Union City; step children, Todd and Terilyn; two brothers, Charles Potts and his companion Dorothy Culver of Union City and Gary Potts and his wife Debi of Union City; and two sisters, Lois Nelson of Pittsburgh and Connie Lewis and her husband William of Sandy Lake; five step great grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews. Barbara was preceded in death by her parents; two brothers, Ronald Potts and Dean Potts; a son, Troy Helgert; and a brother in law, Lee Nelson. There will be no services held at this time, a celebration of life will be announced at a later date. Private burial will take place in Mount Pleasant Cemetery, Union City.   1. It is Oct. 16, and I just found out Barb passed away in February. We were friends in high school, I decided to look her up and go visit her. I was saddened to read I was too late. She was a wonderful person, and her smile was just great, I will never forget her.
