Anna Louise Burkett

Anna L. Burkett, 84, passed away on July 8, 2026 at UPMC Shadyside, Pittsburgh with her family at her side, after an unexpected cancer diagnosis, that quickly took her strength and finally her breath.

She was born on June 7, 1942 in Franklin, Pennsylvania to Frank and Amy Baker. She attended Franklin High School and on November 24, 1962, she married the love of her life, John H. Burkett, Sr. They enjoyed visiting and helping others, family vacations, canning together, and taking an occasional trip to a casino.

She loved spending any time she could with her kids and her grandkids. They meant the world to her! You would find her cooking anyone’s “special requests” and then spending an evening playing games, such as Scattergories or 500 Rummy. She also enjoyed time with her friends, either in person or on the phone. In her spare time she loved her Search-a-Words as well.

Left to cherish her memory is her husband of 63 years, John Burkett Sr., her children, John H. Burkett Jr., and his wife, Tina of York, her daughter, Amy Arvin, and her husband, Robert of York, PA, her son-in-law, Richard Yard of Franklin, PA, her grandchildren, John H. Burkett III, and his wife, Hillary of Beaver Falls, PA, Hailey and Benjamin Yard, both of Franklin, PA, Elliana and Elise Arvin, both of York, PA, and many nieces, nephews, and cousins.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her daughter, Barbara Yard, her granddaughter Anaysia, and her brothers Ed, Clifford, Lou, and Clyde Baker.

Guests are invited to Gardinier-Warren Funeral Home and Cremation Services, Inc., 1315 Chestnut St., Franklin, PA, on Tuesday, July 14th, with a viewing starting at 11:00 AM until the start of the services the same day at 1:00 PM.

Anna will be laid to rest at Franklin Cemetery.
