Rev. Andrew Slozat, 87, of 138 Riesenman Drive, Cooperstown, died at 3:40 a.m. Sunday, Sept. 7, 2008 at UPMC Northwest. Born July 12, 1921, in North Richmond, Ohio, he was the son of Daniel and Josephine Kulik Slozat. He was employed as a steel worker and pastor. He was a veteran of World War II. Mr. Slozat was a member of Rocky Grove Pilgrim Holiness. He was the pastor for the Rocky Grove Pilgrim Holiness Church for 44 ? years. He received his education in Bible Studies at Allentown Bible College and served as principal of the church's Christian day school for five years. He also did volunteer work to help alcoholics. He was well loved by all in the surrounding church and community. Mr. Slozat was married June 7, 1957, to Donnabelle Stooky, and she preceded him in death. He is survived by a sister, Margaret Slozat of Meadville; a brother, Steve Slozat and wife, Verna, of Cochranton; and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife; a brother, John Slozat; and sisters, Ann, Francis and Stella. Friends may call from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Wednesday at the Robert W. Gardinier Funeral Home Inc., in Franklin. Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday at the Rocky Grove Pilgrim Holiness Church in Franklin with the Rev. Donald Myers a Former Conference President, officiating, assisted by the Rev. Paul Baker of Rocky Grove Pilgrim Holiness Church and the Rev. Brian Spangler, a New Conference President.
