Alvin Joseph Bradley, 76, of Meadville, passed away February 28, 2011 at Edinboro Manor, Edinboro, PA after an extended illness.
He was born May 6, 1934 in Union Township, Crawford County and was the son of Joseph Bradley and Charlotte Keene Bradley.
He was a 1951 graduate of Meadville High School. He attended Alliance College in Cambridge Springs where he studied tool design, and graduated from Hobart Welding School.
He was a US Army Veteran with the 546th Ordnance Company in Germany.
He retired from the Meadville Tribune after being a printer for over 36 years. Additionally, he worked as a welder on pipeline construction in Youngstown, Ohio, the Erie Railroad, Singer Sewing Machine Company in Meadville in the Sales and Service Department, and the former American Viscose Company in Meadville.
He furnished local warranty repair facilities and general service for over 25 years for American Farmworks of Rochester, Minnesota, and Parker McCrory Company of Kansas City, Missouri.
He served for more than 15 years on the local board of the Selective Service System, undergoing each day of scheduled training, and was a facilitator for the Catholic Fellowship Support Group for divorced, separated, and widowed persons.
He is survived by his former wife and friend Lois Williams Bradley; three daughters Lisa Bradley-Schroeck and her husband Dave of Erie, PA; Wendy McLaren and her husband Kevin of Crimora, VA; and Anita Stefanelli and her husband Anthony of Erie, PA; five grandchildren; Emily, Dante, and Milan Stefanelli of Erie, PA; and Kaylee and Alec McLaren of Crimora, VA; and an aunt, Beatrice Lindner.
Services will be private at the convenience of the family.
Burial will take place at Williams Cemetery.

I’m sorry for your loss. I worked with Al at the Tribune and went to school with him, so I will remember him always.

My deepest condolences to the Bradley family. I remember staying the nights at your house when i was younger. He was fun to be around and always seeing in the print shoop at the tribune when we went to get my dad on fridays night.
