Alice A. Dunn, 83, of 24 Venango St., Franklin, died at 2:15 a.m. Tuesday, Nov. 3, 2009, at UPMC Northwest. Born Jan. 8, 1926, in Sharpsville, she was the daughter of Joseph Senay and the former Anna Waselko. She was a graduate of Sharpsville High School. Mrs. Dunn was employed as a medical secretary for 11 years for Dr. J.J. Waselko in Youngstown, Ohio, and for eight years at Grandview nursing home in Franklin. She was a member of St. Patrick Church in Franklin and she enjoyed cooking and spending time with her family, particularly her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She married Edwin T. Dunn on Sept. 27, 1947, and he preceded her in death Sept. 22, 1978. Mrs. Dunn and her husband operated a Ford, Lincoln and Mercury dealership when they lived in Mercer. She is survived by two children, Nancy Griffin and her husband, Robert of New Paltz, N.Y., and Judy Jones and her husband, William of Franklin; four grandchildren, James Griffin and his wife, Josephine, of Modena, N.Y. , Shirley Griffin of New Paltz, N.Y., Jennifer Jones of Pittsburgh and William E. Jones of Franklin, three great-grandchildren, Conner James Griffin and Gavin Michael Griffin both of Modena, N.Y., and Delaney Lynn Aube of Gardiner, N.Y.; one brother, William Senay of Orchard Park, N.Y.; and several nieces and nephews. In addition to her husband, Mrs. Dunn was preceded in death by one sister, Betty Perman of Hermitage; one sister-in-law, Marilyn Senay; and one grandson, Robert Michael Griffin of New Paltz, N.Y. Friends will be received from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Thursday at the Gardinier Funeral Home, Inc. of Franklin. A Christian wake service will be held at 3:30 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home with deacon Walt Jones presiding. A funeral Mass will be celebrated at 10:30 a.m. Friday at St. Patrick Church with Monsignor John Herbein, pastor at St. Patrick, presiding. Interment will follow at St. Patrick Cemetery.
