Alberta Jean Peterson, 85, of Franklin, died at 1:30 p.m. at her residence on Saturday, September 10th.Born in Franklin on October 11, 1930, Alberta was the daughter of the late Sherman and Marion Wilhelm Dunlap. She was married to Ralph Peterson who preceded her in death.Mrs. Peterson was a homemaker who cherished spending time with her family. She enjoyed visiting and "gossiping" with her neighbors. Alberta also liked puzzle books, playing bingo, and all card games.She is survived by her sons, Ralph Peterson, Jr. and his wife, Michele, Walter Peterson, Rick Peterson and Danny Peterson; and her daughters, Judy Gough and her husband, Harry, Erma Ferry, and Debra Orr and her husband, Larry, all of Franklin; and numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren.Mrs. Peterson is also survived by her sisters, Patricia Hartzell of Franklin, Leora Shawgo of CA, Ethel Rice and her husband, Wayne, of Cooperstown, and Joyce Mays and her husband, Vance, of Franklin; and her sisters-in-law, Barbara Dunlap and Nancy Dunlap, both of Franklin.In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by her son, Robert Eugene Peterson; her brothers, Robert, Martin, Sherman, Jimmy, Lawrence, Ed, and Floyd Dunlap; and her sisters, Dolly, Mabel, Margaret, and Mary.Family and friends will be received at the Gardinier Funeral Home, Inc., 1315 Chestnut Street, Franklin on Wednesday, September 14th from 2 to 4 p.m. Funeral Services will follow at 4 p.m. with Pastor Jason Peterson, Youth Pastor of the Atlantic Avenue United Brethren in Christ Church, officiating.To send cards, flowers, online condolences or for further information, family and friends are invited to visit www.gardinierfuneralhome.com
