Howard Justin Kelsey, Jr.

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Howard “Bud” Justin Kelsey, Jr., 69, of Corry, who left us on May 4, 2026, at the Oil City Nursing and Rehabilitation Center. Bud was born on June 25, 1956, in Erie, Pennsylvania, to Howard J. Kelsey, Sr. and Margarete Ray Kelsey. He was a devoted father, brother, and friend who will be dearly missed.

Bud proudly served his country as a Vietnam Veteran in the U.S. Navy on the USS Nimitz where he was an ABFAA with a rank of E2. After his service, he carved out a living as a truck driver, working for various companies in the area. He was a member of the Sparty Sportsman’s Club, the Elgin/Beaverdam Fire Department, and a life member of the North American Hunting Club. Bud also enjoyed his time with fellow veterans at the Union City American Legion.

A lover of the outdoors, Bud found joy in hunting and fishing. He was also an avid fan of airshows, tractor pulls, and sci-fi movies, sharing these passions with family and friends.

Bud is survived by his son, Shawn Allen Kelsey of Corry; two daughters, Sharon Peterson (fiancĂ© Tony Medina) of Jeanette, Pennsylvania, and Julie Neely (husband Ted) of Titusville; a brother, Charles “Eddie” Kelsey (wife Tammy) of Conneaut Lake; a sister, Linda Kelsey; along with several grandchildren and great-grandchildren. He is reunited in spirit with his late wife, Karen Bailey Kelsey; his parents; and his brother, Doug Kelsey.

A celebration of life will be held at the Hydetown Volunteer Fire Department, 12638 Main Street, Hydetown, PA on Sunday, July 19th at 2:00 pm.
