Russell James Devillars Jr.

February 1, 1955 ~ March 13, 2026

Born in: Fort Worth, Texas
Resided in: Meadville, Pennsylvania

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Russell “Russ” James Devillars Jr. on March 13, 2026, at the age of 71. Born on February 1, 1955, in Fort Worth, TX, Russell was the beloved son of Russell and Nola Devillars, Sr. He spent a majority of his life in Meadville after graduating from Randolph East Mead High School and dedicated himself to working hard, whether it was building houses, repairing vehicles, or scrapping, always putting in his best effort.

Russell had a zest for life that was reflected in his many interests. He loved fishing, attending auctions, and finding joy in the company of family and friends. You could often find him searching for fishing lures, whipping up delicious cookies and brownies, or firing up the grill for a cookout. And, of course, everyone knew when Russ was coming – he loved driving his big, dark red Dodge Ram, a truck that became as much a part of him as his contagious personality. It wasn’t just a vehicle; it was a symbol of his presence, and you could hear the rumble of that engine from a mile away.

Russell is survived by his three daughters, Khesandre, Khetreane, and Elhle; along with his seven cherished grandchildren, Hhanna, Iiarais, Gracelynne, Llydheia, Ocean, Dona, and Paul (little man); and a very special friend, Dorothy. He also leaves behind three brothers, Randy, Richard, and Ronald.

He was preceded in death by his sister, Marie, and his brother, Robert. Russell’s legacy of love, laughter, and a life well lived will continue to shine through those who were blessed to know him. He will be deeply missed but forever in our hearts.

  1. oh how I’m going to miss you. I’m going to miss how you always made me laugh and would always bring me cookies when I had a bad day. I’m going to miss coming to your house and having a home cook meal, that steak and chicken you made was always the best. Ugh I’m just going to miss coming over and just relaxing with you. This is going to be hard without you so please watch over us from above.
