Born in: Sharon, Pennsylvania
Resided in: Polk, Pennsylvania

Faye Annette Ohler, beloved mother, devoted caregiver, and cherished friend, passed away peacefully on July 1, 2025, at the age of 79 at the Ashtabula Medical Center in Ashtabula, Ohio.

Born on September 27, 1945, in Sharon, PA, she was the daughter of the late Clarence and Vera (Weaver) Thompson, Sr.

A proud graduate of Hickory High School, Faye was not only devoted to her work but was also a pillar of her family.

On April 6, 1968, she married the love of her life, Floyd “Lawrence” Ohler and he preceded her in death on July 3, 2015.

Faye dedicated her life to caring for others, working as a Residential Service Aide at the Polk Center for 26 years, following her earlier roles at Venango Manor and various nursing homes. Her compassion and commitment to those she served were evident in every interaction, leaving a lasting impact on countless lives.

In her leisure time, Faye found solace and happiness in reading, completing word searches, crafting, and listening to music, pursuits that brought her joy and peace throughout her life. For more than 31 years, she served as a “Friendly Home” account representative, a role that reflected her innate ability to connect with others and make them feel valued.

She takes with her the love of her children, Mary Ohler and John Ohler both of Polk, who will forever treasure her kindness, warmth, and the memories of joy shared during their beloved monthly family gatherings. Faye’s spirit will also be missed dearly by her siblings Clarence “Sonny” Thompson, Jr. and his wife, Amelia, of Transfer, Shirley Young and her husband, Jim, of Hermitage, Betty Smith of Transfer, Connie Ansell of Transfer, Marsha Ansell and her husband, Jerry, of Fredonia, Ada Ansell and her husband, Bob, of Hadley, Cindy Bish and her husband, Duane, of Cambridge Springs; her foster sister Alice Ansell and her husband, George, of Greenville; her numerous nieces and nephews; and her beloved dog, Kara.

Faye’s warmth extended beyond her immediate family, and she will be remembered fondly by all who had the privilege of knowing her.

In addition to her parents and her loving husband, Faye was preceded in death by her sister Phyllis Thompson and her foster brother George Miller.

Memories Timeline

Guestbook

  1. I am so very sorry for your loss. I worked with Faye for a few years at Polk before we changed assignments, She was always a kind, caring person even under trying circumstances. I know she is a better place and no longer is burdened with the cares and struggles of this world. Thank the LORD this world is not our home and things are better for all of us who believe and trust in Him when we get to meet Jesus. My prayers are with you that the LORD comforts and hold you closely in these times.
