Mary Glenna McGarvey, 94, of Union City, passed away Saturday, September 9, 2023, at Parkside at Glenwood, Millcreek Township. She was born April 2, 1929, a daughter of Dallas and Ida Maxey Wright. She was employed at the General State Authority as a typist and clerk. Glenna was a member of Mill Village United Methodist Church and Eastern Star. She enjoyed western square dancing in many different square dancing groups, cards, flower gardening, scrabble, and was an inventor of many words. Left to cherish her memory, a daughter, Merita Peters and her husband, Rusty, of Erie; two sons, Jim Yovich and his wife, Suzann, of Sugar Grove, Pennsylvania and Steven Yovich and his wife, Heidi, of Mill Village; seven grandchildren, Michael E. Yovich, Molly J. Reed and her husband, Ryan, Annie R. Bennett and her husband, Ryan, Carly R. Yovich, Zachary R. Hatch and his wife, Christina, Caleb R. Hatch and his wife, Amy, and Mallory A. Morey and her husband, Chris; nine great-grandchildren, Kayley Yovich, Eli J. Yovich, Iris Reed, Kingston Reed, Jack Bennett, Rhayne Hatch, Daniel Hatch, Drew Hatch, and Carter Hatch; a sister, Betty Bryson and her husband, Richard, of Virginia; and a brother, Dallas J. Wright, of Virginia. Glenna was preceded in death by her parents; husbands, Eli Yovich and Lloyd McGarvey; and an infant granddaughter, Jessie Sue Yovich. All services are private. Glenna will be laid to rest in Mill Village Cemetery.
