Roberta L. "Bobbie" Prichard, 76, of 100 14th Street in Franklin, died, Saturday, March 20, 2010 at 5:04 PM at her residence. Born September 2, 1933 in Harrisville, PA, she was the daughter of the late Robert G. and Vera D. Young Henderson. Roberta first worked as a clerk for Joy Manufacturing. She then worked as a clerk for CPT. Most recently she was employed at the American Greeting Card Factory. She moved to Franklin in 1946 and was a 1951 graduate of Franklin High School. Roberta was a member of the Uniontown Heights Sunday School, former secretary of the Third Ward PTA, member of the Junior Women's Club of Rocky Grove, a member of the Rocky Grove Fireman's Marching Band, and several card clubs. She was also a member of the Women of the Moose. Roberta enjoyed spending time at her cottage at Canadohta Lake and spending time with her grandchildren and great grandchildren. She also enjoyed spending time with her dog, "Scraps," and her two cats, "Zippie" and "Zander." She was first married to Spiro T. Simanteris of West Melbourne, FL, who survives. She married Kenneth D. Prichard, on July 11, 1969, who also survives. In addition to her husband, Kenneth, she is survived by her son Steven R. Simanteris and his wife, Ginny of Franklin; two daughters, Brenda Wardon and her husband, Dennis of Phoenix, AZ and Karla Morvay and her husband, Steve of Tecumseh, Michigan; two brothers-in-law, Dr. Loren Prichard and his wife, Linda of Erie and Paul Hoffman and his wife Denise of Harrisville; and two sisters-in-law, Joyce Baum and her husband, Ed of Marion, OH and Darlene Barber and her husband, Gary of Franklin. Roberta is also survived by her five grandchildren, Jodi Simanteris of Franklin, Amie Ange and her husband, Jason of Oil City, Stefanie Lewis and her husband Brad of San Diego, CA, Matthew Morvay of Tecumseh, Michigan, and Kendra Wardon of Phoenix, AZ; two great grandchildren, Sidney Ange and Julian Ange of Oil City; and several nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents, Roberta was preceded in death by her son, Mark J. Simanteris, her father and mother-in-law, Fred and Marie Prichard, and her sister, Patricia Hoffman. Friends will be received at the Gardinier Funeral Home, Inc., 1315 Chestnut Street, Franklin, on Wednesday, March 24, 2010 from 9-11 am. Funeral services will be held on Wednesday at 11:00 am at the Funeral Home with the Rev. Jonathan Bell of the Allegheny Wesleyan Methodist Church presiding. Interment will follow at Mount Pleasant Cemetery. The family suggests that memorials be made to the Venango County Humane Society, P.O.     So sorry to hear of Bobbie’s passing. Bobbie was my wife Anne’s dearest friend. I know you must be heart-broken. I still think of Anne constantly after nearly 3 years. Please take care of yourself. Don’t do anything stupid. I’ll see you on Wednesday.

  2. Dear Ken, I remember meeting Bobbie for the first time when her Mom lived next to me- I lived on Pacific & Center & she lived on Center, she was such a beautiful cheerful lady. You use to drive my school bus, as did Ralph. Bobbie will sadly be missed. My prayers & thoughts are with you at this time of sorrow. Debbie

  5. Ken and family, I am so saddened by Bobbis death… she was such a wonderful person…she was like a mother to me in many ways. I met her when I was 15 and loved her from day one.
