William Richard "Rick" Shorts, 71, has entered the presence of Jesus to be with his many loved ones and friends, on Thursday, May 14, 2020 surrounded by his family. Rick was born on July 31, 1948 in Franklin, PA, son of the late William J. Shorts and Bonnie Deeter Waid. He married the love of his life, Arlene Sellen on January 15, 1972, she preceded him in passing on September 28, 2018.
Rick proudly served in the United States Air Force as a Sergeant. He was a kind man who could always make a friend. He worked for PennDot for 31 years as an equipment operator, delivered Meadville Tribune for 9 years and was a van driver for Vallonia industries for 10 years. Rick was a devote Christian and praises the Lord for all he has done in his life and thanks the Lord daily for his presence.
Survivors include, two daughters, Tonya Fultz and her husband Tim Fultz of Meadville and Michelle Blair and her husband Todd of Guys Mills; grandchildren, Amber Presock and her husband Leroy Mackenzie Blair; Emma Blair; Johnathon Blair and Brach Fultz; great grandchildren Grace and Hannah McClelland and Brodie Presock.
In addition to his parents, Rick was preceded in passing by his beloved wife Arlene Shorts, brother Ron Shorts, and sister Janet Parsley.
The family would like to thank the staff at Kindred Hospice for their wonderful compassionate care the provided for Rick.
No services will be held at this time. A Memorial Service will be held at New Beginnings Church of God at a future date.
Arrangements have been entrusted to the Ryan M. Warren Funeral Home and Cremation Services, Inc., 33353 N. Main Street, Townville, PA 16360.

My sympathy to the family of Rick Shorts-I was saddened to read of the passing of your Dad, I have so many happy memories of your mother and father.
My late husband Don Courtney and your father worked at PennDot together and we couples had a PennDot Bowling league were I met your parents we had so much fun just being together and laughing.
