William Lyman Woods

William Lyman Woods, 88, of Centerville passed away at the Titusville Healthcare and Rehabilitation Center on January 9, 2024.
Born in Humbert, PA on May 14, 1935, he was the son of the late William F. and Mary (Tannihill) Woods.
William graduated with a Bachelor’s in Agriculture from Penn State University.
He proudly served in the US Army.
On May 4, 1968, he married the love of his life, the former Dixie Gates. She survives.
William worked for the Commonwealth of PA as a feed and fertilizer inspector for 7 counties. He loved to work on his beef farm, in the orchard and in his vegetable gardens. William also volunteered as a poll worker for the Election Board and could often be found woodworking or spending time enjoying the great outdoors. Most of all, he loved being with his family and spoiling the grandchildren.
Along with is wife of 55 years are his children, Rhonda Sutton (Todd) of Wapakoneta, OH, Stacey Lantz (Joshua) of Cochranton, William Woods of Emlenton, and Greg Woods of Beaver Falls, PA; his 14 grandchildren, Devon, Dawn, William, Sidney, Samantha, Sierra, Houston, Andrew, Christian, Allison, Deanna, Parker, Erick, Jackson; his great grandchildren, Emery, Lincoln, Addie; and his siblings, Freda Cooper of Arizona, Barbara Britt (Thomas) of Collinsville, Mary Griffin of New Mexico, Donald Woods of Confluence and Robert Woods (Marilyn) of Brockway.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his sister, Carylon and his daughter-in-law, Karen Woods.
Friends and family are welcome to call on Thursday, January 11, 2024 from 2:00 pm to 4:00 pm and 7:00 pm - 9:00 pm at the Ryan M. Warren Funeral Home and Cremation Services, Inc., 33353 N. Main Street, Townville. Funeral services for William will be at the funeral home on Friday, January 12, 2024 at 11:00 am with Pastor Chris Gates, officiating.
William will be laid to rest at the Troy Center Cemetery.
