William (Bill) D. Morris, 73, of Sharon, passed away at 10:30 a.m. at his residence on Friday, July 17th after an extended illness. He passed into the loving arms of his Savior, Jesus, with his family by his side.Born December 31, 1941 in Sharon, William was the son of the late William Stephen and Louanna P. Hutchison Morris. He was married to the former Marilyn L. Stull, who survives. William was a 1959 graduate of Hickory High School. He served in the US Army Signal Corp. from 1961 to 1964, and loved to talk about his trips into Denmark and Wales while he was stationed in Germany. While in Wales, he was thrilled to visit his family there. He retired from Sharon Steel Corp. after working there for 30 years. Bill enjoyed buying, selling and trading antiques and collectibles for more than 50 years, earning the name, "Trader Bill", for his many trades with fellow enthusiasts. He was always seen at local flea markets and antique shops. He had an excellent eye for the rare and unusual. Bill had a wealth of knowledge. He spent many hours passing on his knowledge and love of all things Civil War related and history, to "anyone" who would listen. He leaves behind his best friend of 50 years, David Drobny, his wife, Sylvia, and his special friends, Phil Ames and James Finlen. Our thanks and appreciation to all his neighbors, friends, and acquaintances who cared for him and made him smile.He is survived by his wife, Marilyn Morris, whom he married August 30, 1975; his 2 sons, David Lee Morris and his wife, Lisa, of Hermitage, and Bryan Keith Morris of Wilkes-Barre; and his 2 daughters, Shelly Lynne Federspiel and her husband, Phill, of Newmanstown, and Brenda Lee Young of Sharon. He is also survived by his 8 grandchildren, Ashley P. Morris, Joshua D. Morris, Samuel Sykola, Anna Elise Sykola, Andrew Federspiel, Justin Federspiel, Joshua Federspiel, and Kellee Federspiel-Berthelette; and his 4 great-grandchildren.William is additionally survived by his sister, Carol Darlene Christy and her husband, Donald; many nieces, nephews, and cousins, of whom he was very proud. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his sisters, Beverly Jean Rudisill and Gwen Lynn Morris.Our unending gratitude and thanks to Dr. Garrow and all the wonderful people at Cancer Care & Hospice who were of great help and support to us.A Memorial Service for William will be held at the Faith Presbyterian Church, 2370 North Hermitage Road, Hermitage, Pa 16148 at 11:00 a.m. on July 25th with Rev. James Latta, pastor of the church officiating.
