Guestbook

  1. After working to put herself through college, Turzah graduated from Clarion University in 196 1 with a BS in Elem. Ed., completed a M.Ed at Shippensburg in 1965, and a reading specialist certification through PSU. She was an excellent, caring and compassionate teacher, and had the highest respect from her colleagues and students. She taught at Oxford Area, 61-62; Lower Dauphin 62-68; Upper Adams, 69-71, and was an Adjunct Professor at Harrisburg Area Community College from 1992-2013. She cared deeply for her mother and father, and her siblings. Her passing will be missed my many. some more than you think.

  2. Remembering Turza at HACC for how conscientious and dedicated she was to teaching and her reading students. She was precise and professional, and held herself and her students to high standards. She always had a friendly smile when our paths crossed occasionally, and I admired her perseverance and stamina in light of her physical and health problems. May you rest in peace, Turza.

  3. I am saddened to hear of Turzah’s death. Please know how very sorry I am. Turzah and I graduated from Franklin High School together.

  4. At HACC, Turzah was a patient, caring professor who did all she could to support the success of her students. She will be missed by her colleagues and students.

  5. Turza will always be remembered fondly by her colleagues at Harrisburg Area Community College. She was a dedicated instructor who encouraged many students over the years to achieve success at their studies. Rest in peace Turza. We will carry your light forward as we start a new semester.

  6. Turzah was a great office mate and a friend. She always had a kind word or a helpful suggestion. I will miss her dearly, as I’m sure many at HACC will.

  7. Elaine and I were saddened to hear of Turzah,s passing, and our thoughts go out to Shawn and John. I worked for a year or so with her at Midtown, counseling and advising. Turzah was always thorough and patient and stayed on top of program changes, etc. which were numerous. A real professional and always upbeat–a role model for the rest of us. She will be missed.

  8. Turzah was a kind and caring person with her students as well as co-workers. She always took the time to ask how you were doing…. she will be missed.
