Born in: Meadville, Pennsylvania
Resided in: Saegertown, Pennsylvania

T. Edward Kantz, known to many as Ed, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, January 29, 2025 surrounded by his loving family at Meadville Medical Center. He was born on November 8, 1943, in Meadville, PA, to Orville and Marguerite Miller Kantz.

Ed spent nearly 60 wonderful years married to the love of his life, Darlene M. Edge, having tied the knot on June 11, 1965. A proud graduate of Saegertown High School, he started his career at Greenleaf and then pursued his passion for electricity, becoming a skilled electrician. He worked diligently with I.B.E.W. Local 712 for an impressive 37 years.

A member of Saint Paul’s Lutheran Church, Ed cherished his time spent with his grandchildren and great-grandchildren, whose laughter filled his heart with joy. He had a special affinity for tractors, farming equipment, and all things related to agriculture.

He leaves behind his devoted wife Darlene, daughter Tami Simonowich (Joseph) of Seaboard, North Carolina, son Todd Kantz (Ann) of Conneaut Lake, five beloved grandchildren—Emily (Cody) Custard, Blake (Cassidy) Simonowich, Justin (Madison) Kantz, Logan (Makayla) Simonowich, and Spencer Simonowich—and four great-grandchildren. Ed is also survived by his sister Judy Wilcox of Blooming Valley, brothers Gary (Bev) Kantz and Tim (Vickie) Kantz, both of Saegertown, along with a multitude of nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents and a son, Terry Kantz.

Friends and family will gather at the Ryan M. Warren Funeral Home and Cremation Services, Inc. on Saturday, February 1st, from 11:00 AM to 1:00 PM for calling hours. 9. My sincere condolences to Ed’s family and friends. I was on several jobs with Ed, Dave Massung and Kenny Harry and although Ed and I didn’t work in close proximity, I would hear him talking and getting people to laugh at his stories about working his farm and about his 🚜 tractor.
