Shirley L Haylett, 83, formerly of Sandycreek Township, passed away on Friday, February 14th, in Butler where she had resided for the past few years. Born July 25, 1930, in Franklin, Shirley was the daughter of the late Charles A. and Sara Jane Houser Ream. She was married to Clarence B. Haylett on September 3, 1949, and he preceded her in death on February 3, 2013. In earlier years, Shirley worked at Franklin Hospital, where she delivered meals to patients. She also had worked at Franklin Manifold as a laborer. Shirley was a member of the Franklin Church of the Nazarene, and also a member of the Daughters of the American Revolution. She enjoyed camping, traveling, hunting, ice skating, and spending time with her family. Shirley is survived by her daughters, Linda Heckman and her husband, Philip, of Butler, and Barbara Barger of Sligo; her son, Burton Haylett and his wife, Betty, of Mary Ester, FL; her grandchildren, Daniel Haylett of Franklin, Lynnette Glaze and her husband, Jerry, of Boston, Sarah Haylett of Columbia, SC, Curtis Heckman and his wife, Eileen, of Irwin, Melanie Haylett of Mary Ester, FL, Grant Heckman and his wife, Amy, of Baltimore, MD, and Jenny Barger and Patrick Wiegand, of Sligo. She is additionally survived by her great-grandchildren, Xavier, Isabella, Julianna, and Evangeline Heckman of Irwin, Hunter and Madalyn Loging of Columbia, SC, Kaleb and Abbigale Wiegand of Sligo, Haley Smith of Mary Ester, FL, and Micah Heckman of Ellicott City, MD; and her sister Vivian Tarr of Franklin. Shirley is also survived by her soon to be new great-granddaughter, Perri Louise Glaze. In addition to her parents and husband, Shirley was preceded in death by her brother, Charles Ray Ream; and her sister, LeNoir Jane Heckathorn. Family and friends will be received at the Gardinier Funeral Home, 1315 Chestnut Street, Franklin on Monday, February 17 from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. on Tuesday, February 18 at the Franklin Church of the Nazarene, with Rev. Grant Heckman, Associate Pastor of the Crossroad Church of the Nazarene, officiating. Interment will be in Graham Cemetery. The family suggests that memorial contributions be made to the Franklin Church of the Nazarene, 393 Pone Lane, Franklin, PA 16323.
