I love you forever Gram. You were one of the brightest lights in my life and I will never forget you or the memories we shared. Thank you for everything, we got it from here. ❤️
Born and cherished on August 5th, 1948 to the late Charles and Mary Jane (Strawbridge) Sutley at Franklin Hospital in Franklin, PA, she graduated from Rocky Grove Junior Senior High School in 1966. Sandy had many jobs through her career, including working at a greeting card company in Reno, being a notary for her and her husband Gary’s business, “Ray’s Auto Sales”, completed a dietary course and found employment at Sugar Creek Manor, Polk Center, and UPMCNorthwest, with additional roles as a nurse’s aide and housekeeping. Her passion for helping others was evident in her work and the dedicated attention she gave to each patient she had, whether it was meeting specific needs or requests, making sure everyone was well fed, and ensuring each patient knew she had an ear to listen to and a shoulder to cry on.
While growing up as a Protestant, Sandy chose to follow her heart and her faith in her own way. She enjoyed activities such as horseback riding in her youth, yard work, gardening, crocheting, cooking, pine cone crafts, card games, and loving up on her cats. Sandy will be remembered for her strength, humor, courage, and wisdom, countless times spent with family and friends, always making sure no one leaves her house hungry, her love for Christmas and for the everlasting love she had for everyone around her, especially those who have special needs.
She is survived by her daughter-in-law Kelly King of Pleasantville; her sisters Cindy Terry and husband, Tex, of Polk, Judy Bowman and her husband, Bob, of Morgantown, PA; her sister-in-law Ale Estrada of Franklin; her grandchildren Sara Ray of Guys Mills, Christina Guzan and her husband, Tyler, of Andover, OH, Vincent Ray of Warren, PA, Cheyenne Presto and her husband, Gregory, of Titusville; numerous nieces and nephews; and her nine great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, her children Lori Ann Ray and Garry Randall Ray; brothers John Sutley and Robert Sutley; sisters Cheryl Karns and Lynda Walters; and a great granddaughter Remee Layne Wilkinson.
