Rose Marie Roe

Rose Marie Roe, 91, of Williamsburg, Virginia, formerly of Meadville, passed away, Wednesday, December 5, 2018 at Commonwealth Senior Living at Williamsburg.  She was born on January 21, 1927, in Meadville, daughter of the late Emanuel and Jenny Sciabica Piazza.  She married Ralph Roe in Meadville on September 18, 1947, and he preceded her in passing on February 26, 1997.  Her daughter Flora “Danielle” Geha of West Windsor, New Jersey, also preceded her in passing on July 18, 2007.

Rose enjoyed cooking, playing cards and spending time with her grandchildren and was a former member of St. Agatha Church.  Earlier in her life Rose was a Beautician working with her sisters and was a long time employee of Mr. Donuts in Meadville.

Survivors include her daughter, Deborah Stevens and her husband Robert of Meadville; sons Robert Roe of Bainbridge Island, WA; and Ralph Roe and his wife Lesa of Williamsburg, VA. eight grandchildren and seven great grandchildren, several nieces and nephews and two sisters, Virginia Piazza of Fountain Valley, CA and Shirley Turner of Corona, CA.  

In addition to her parents and beloved husband and daughter, Rose was preceded in death by her two brothers, Louis and John Piazza and her sister Mildred Santanello. 

Friends and family are invited to a memorial service, December 22, 2018 at 11:00 A.M. at the Ryan M. Warren Funeral Home and Cremation Services Inc., 544 Chestnut Street, Meadville, PA 16335, with Father Jeffrey Lucas officiating. 

Burial will take place at St. Brigid Cemetery. 

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to your favorite charity.

    I wanted to offer my sincere condolences to all of you. Mrs. Roe was such a beautiful person who was always so kind to all of us when we went over to the house to flirt with her son, Bob. It is so hard when you loose a mother but her memories will keep you strong. God Bless you all. Love, Shirley (Costa) and Bryan Callan .

  2. This fine woman always treated me well even when I did not deserve it. Perhaps her greatest attribute is reflected in the family that she raised.The moral standards in her household were beyond reproach. She was a shining example of everything that is right about America.

  3. Rose was always such a sweet Lady she was very giving her talents to help other people she was a great cook and Baker made the best cookies and Bread! Am great full how she helped my mom out many nites after my Brother passed she is one of the Best!
