Ronald C. Kuntz, 76, of Main Street, Saegertown, passed away, Tuesday, April 3, 2012 at Wesbury United Methodist Retirement Community. He was born September 21, 1935 a son of Clarence L. Kuntz and Thelma P. Mulligan Kuntz. He married Maxine M. Gongaware on June 23, 1956, she survives.
Ron was a 1954 graduate of Meadville Area High School, following graduation he enlisted with the United State Air Force serving his country proudly during the Korean Conflict.
He worked for Lord Corporation of Saegertown for 35 years as a lab technician in addition to being a Deputy Game Protector for the Pennsylvania State Game Commission until his retirement, after that time he worked at the wildlife museum at Pymatuning State Park in Linesville.
He served on the Saegertown Borough Council for 23 years and as the role of mayor for 9 years.
He was a life member of American Legion Post #205 in Saegertown, a member and past PER for the B.P.O. Elks Lodge #219 in Meadville, and a member of Twelve Apostles Church.
Ron was an avid outdoorsman with a love for his hunting camp, hunting, fishing, and especially his Weimaraner dogs which he had as companions most of his life.
In addition to Ron's loving wife, Maxine of nearly 56 years he is survived by two daughters, Debra A. Bartlett of Cambridge Springs and Tammy J. Schlosser and her husband Scott of Saegertown; three grandchildren, Kacie L. Cornell of Overland Park, Kansas, Benjamin S. Schlosser and his wife Emily of McKean, and Christopher E. Schlosser of Saegertown; and several cousins.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
Friends and family are welcome to call on Saturday, April 7, 2012 from 10:00am to 11:00am at Roofner-Collins-Warren Funeral Home and Cremation Services, Inc., 544 Chestnut Street, Meadville., with the Rituals of Special Serivce being performed by the Meadville Elks Club Lodge #219 at 10:50am. A memorial service will follow at the funeral home with Pastor Kelly Nelson, pastor, of Twelve Apostles Church, officiating. Full Military honors will be performed by Huidekoper VFW Post #2006 Color Guard.
Entombment will take place privately, following military honors, at Roselawn Memorial Gardens, Vernon Township.
