So sorry for your loss! Thoughts & prayers with you during this time of loss!
It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Robert Leo Higley, I, who departed from this world on June 12, 2025, at the age of 80. Robert was born on October 10, 1944, in Corry, Pennsylvania, to Leo Robert Higley and Margaret Lindsey Higley.
A proud veteran of the U.S. Army Signal Corps, Robert wore his service to his country as a badge of honor. He married Mary J. Gocal Higley on August 2, 1967, and together they shared a lifetime of love and laughter until her passing on February 6, 2020.
Robert had a zest for life that was evident in everything he did. Whether it was hitting the golf course, knocking down pins at the bowling alley, or enjoying a day at the horse races, he embraced every moment with enthusiasm. His deep love for old country music and playing the guitar provided him with joy and connection. Recently, he had taken delight in traveling, creating memories on the road.
\Family was the cornerstone of Robert’s life. He cherished every moment spent with his loved ones, and his legacy will live on through them. He is survived by his daughter, Rebecca Higby, and her husband Michael; his daughter-in-law, Caron Higley; grandchildren Tristan, Kylee, Bronnan, Jamon, Lucy, and Masie; his sister, Eloise Ceislak; and brothers Larry Higley and Duane Higley, along with his companion, Patty Long, and many nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Mary, his son Robert L. Higley, II, his parents, and several siblings Marlene Wright, Caroline Baideme, Dave Higley, and Carl “Audie” Higley.
In remembrance of Robert, a reception will be held at the Union City Moose Lodge #882, 3 Perry Street, Union City, on Sunday, June 15, 2025, at 1:00 PM – 5:00 PM.
