Robert James Lane

Robert James Lane, 79, of Rolling Fields Eldercare Community, formerly of Conneaut Lake, passed away, Thursday, October 4, at Meadville Medical Center. R.J. was born on February 24, 1939 in Canonsburg, PA, son of the late Robert and Evelyn Morgan Lane. He married the love of his life, Alma Pauline Jurick on October 24, 1959, she survives.
R.J. was a member of the Montour Historical Society and Fairmont Motorcars Club and he enjoyed model railroading, classic cars, yard work, gardening and doing home improvements. He worked his way up through three railroad companies in his working career, the Montour Railroad Company; the Allegheny Railroad Company and the DM&E Railroad Company. R.J. proudly served his county for 10 years in the National Guard as a K-9 trainer.
Survivors include his wife of 59 years, Alma "Sis" Lane; three daughters, Suzann Davis and her husband Joe of Meadville; Tamie Thompson and her husband Jim of KY; and Kathleen Meyer and her husband Pete of MN; two sons, Ronald Lane and his wife Enizete of Canonsburg; and Joseph Lane of Butler. R.J. was blessed with seven grandchildren, Bryan Donnelly, (Erica), Harmony Glassey (Kevin), Christopher Donnelly, Emily, Kayla and Olivia Meyer and Thiago Lane; also three great grandchildren, Caleigh, Austin and Emma Glassey.
Friends and family are invited to call Our Lady Queen of the Americas, 155 S. 9th Street, Conneaut Lake, PA 16316 on Wednesday, October 10, 2018 from 11:00 A.M. until the time of the Memorial Mass at 12:00 P.M..
