  1. Like all of us, Dick was a complicated person with varied interests. He loved sports, cooking, his friends at the Italian Civic Club in Meadville, and most of all his family and his dog, Penny. Dick cared for his aunt and uncle at their home for a time until they passed, and helped raise two smart and lovely daughters. I have fond memories of Dick, sitting on his porch in Meadville, eating goulash and listening to music or the sounds of a baseball game. Dick was an excellent athlete who could have pitched in the minor leagues, but chose to work instead. He was a hard worker, and was always there to lend a hand with taxing jobs. When he was unable to physically work, he was there to give advice about your furnace, your car, or a broken lawnmower. Not long ago, Dick saved his dog Penny from a house fire and she is now with me. Dick was a good friend to me and my children for 40 years, and he will be missed.
