Richard Donald Abbe, 73, passed away on Friday, January 1, 2021 at The Grove at Greenville. He was born on January 21, 1947 in Doylestown, PA, son of the late Walter Abbe, III and Ellen MacQueen Ashbridge.
Richard enjoyed arts and crafts and music. He had a strong passion for music and recording.
Survivors include his daughter Heather James and her husband Rick of Washington and his son Richard Abbe of Guys Mills; two grandchildren and two sisters, Margaret Brooks and Harriet De Hart.
Richard was preceded in death by his parents.
Family and friends are invited to call the Ryan M. Warren Funeral Home and Cremation Services, Inc., 544 Chestnut Street, Meadville, PA 16335, on Wednesday, January 6, 2021 from 6:00 pm until 7:00 pm. We do ask visitors to follow CDC Guidelines; wear your mask, social distance, and keep your visit brief.

While I never met Richard, his son Richard and I spoke about him many times the past few years. My sincere condolences to the whole family, especially since COVID restrictions kept them from being able to visit him this past several months.
We would like to say to the family of Richard “Snuffy” Abbe, that we loved him too, and will miss him. We were privileged to have shared in his music. always glad to have a conversation with him, no matter the subject. He was an intelligent, articulate, creative character who will always have a place in our hearts.
