Richard A. Makohus

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Richard A. Makohus, 70, of Centerville, who unexpectedly left us on December 10, 2025, at Saint Vincent Hospital. Richard was born on May 29, 1955, in West Mifflin, Pennsylvania, to John G. and Matilda “Tillie” B. Gazda Makohus.
Richard was a devoted and loving husband to Barbara M. Eastland, whom he married on October 28, 2006. He proudly served the community for more than 19 years as a Building and Code Enforcement Officer for Bloomfield Township, where he was known for his dedication and integrity.
In his free time, Richard found joy in woodworking. He will be deeply missed by his wife, Barb, his dog Trixie, and a close and caring family, including his sister-in-law Maria Panucci (Rocco) of Greensburg; his brother-in-law Gary Eastland (Dianna) of Stockton, California; as well as many nieces, nephews, Godchildren, and cherished friends.
Richard was preceded in death by his parents, his brother, John B. Makohus; his aunts, Sr. Mary Joseph Gazda and Anna Valocen; his parents-in-law, Al and Hibby Eastland; and his brother-in-law, Paul Eastland.
Friends and family will gather for a visitation on Thursday, December 18th, from 3:00 PM to 5:30 PM at Warren-Glenn Funeral Home and Cremation Services, Inc., located at 62 S. Main Street, Union City. A memorial service will follow at 5:30 PM, with Father Thomas Suppa officiating.
