Ralph Ellwood "Woody" Mitchell Ralph "Woody" Mitchell, 83, of Bradleytown Road, Cooperstown, went to be with the Lord at 10:55 p.m., on Monday, October 24, 2011, at the Meadville Medical Center. Born June 19, 1928, in Jackson Township, Woody was the son of the late Ralph O. and Freda Bowersox Mitchell. He was married to the former Mary Deeter and she survives. Woody was a second-generation farmer, having operated the family dairy farm and previously the Mitchell Potato Farm. He attended the Chapmanville Community Church. He was a NRA Member and enjoyed hunting and fishing. In addition to his wife, Woody was survived by his four sons, Daniel Mitchell and his wife, Debra, of Franklin, David Mitchell and his wife, Brenda, of Cooperstown, Robert Mitchell and his wife, Michelle, of Franklin, and Mark Mitchell and his wife, Linda, of Cooperstown; and his daughter, Cindy Stewart and her husband, Dewey, of Franklin. He is also survived by 15 grandchildren, 18 great- grandchildren; and his dog, "Buck". In addition to his parents, Woody was preceded in death by his sister, Betty Beach; and a great-grandson. Family and friends will be received at the Gardinier Funeral Home, Inc., 1315 Chestnut Street, Franklin, on Thursday, October 27 from 2 to 6 p.m. Funeral Services for Mr. Mitchell will be held at the Funeral Home at 11 a.m. on Friday, October 28 with Rev. Glenn Van Cise, pastor of the Chapmanville Community Church, officiating Interment will follow in Cooperstown Cemetery. The family suggests that memorial contributions be made to the Cooperstown Library and/or the Cooperstown Volunteer Fire Department.
