Pauline M. Turner, 95, passed away, Tuesday, April 21, 2015, at Homestead Hearth Personal Care Home. She was born on Jan. 4, 1920, a daughter of Walter H. Fix and Grace Stearns Fix. She married Harold B. Turner on Feb. 18, 1939. He preceded her it death in 2000. She graduated from Meadville High School in 1936, and attended Allegheny College class of 1940. Pauline was an area Census supervisor from 1948 to 1950, manager of Townville School Cafeteria 1950 to 1954, secretary of American Red Cross, secretary of Northwestern Pennsylvania Heart Association, secretary of Jervis Cemetery Association, Pennsylvania Volunteer of the Year 1960 by Pennsylvania Public Health Association, founder of San Rosario Nursing Home Auxiliary in 1962, administrator of Crawford County District Office for Rep. Joseph P. Vigorito from 1966 to 1976, Democratic Woman of the Year in 1975 and Crawford County Democratic Party chairman from 1978 to 1982. She was a winter resident in Florida from 1980 to 2003. Pauline enjoyed her family, politics, living life to the fullest and trying to make a difference. She was of the Methodist faith. Pauline is survived by her children, Marilyn Ruffley and her husband, Bill, Harold B. Turner Jr. and his wife, Kay, and Paul H. Turner and his companion, Alma; nine grandchildren, nine great-grandchildren; and three great-great-grandchildren. Family and friends are welcome to call on Sunday from 2 to 4 p.m. at Roofner-Collins-Warren Funeral Home and Cremation Services Inc., 544 Chestnut St., Meadville. The funeral service will be held on Monday at the funeral home at 10:30 a.m., with Assistant Pastor Richard King of Living Waters Church officiating. Burial will take place in Jervis Cemetery, Rockdale Township.
