Paul W. Hillier, Jr., 88, formerly of Cooperstown, passed away on Sunday, June 10, 2018, in Dallas, Texas.  Paul was born on April 22, 1930, the eldest son of Paul W. Hillier, Sr. and Dorothea Eberle Hillier.  He grew up in Cleveland, OH, and later Cooperstown, PA, where his Father owned the Cooperstown Hardware.Paul served in the U.S. Air Force at Holloman Air Force Base in New Mexico from 1949-1950.  Following his military service, Paul enrolled in the College of Business Administration at the University of Pittsburgh, graduating in 1953.  Upon graduating from Pitt, Paul accepted a position with the accounting firm Price Waterhouse in their Dallas, Texas office.  Paul practiced as a Certified Public Accountant with Price Waterhouse in Dallas for 37 years, retiring as a partner in 1990.Paul was married on June 23, 1956, to the former Marjorie A. Foster, who preceded him in death in 1999.  He later married Anne Washburne Barcus of Dallas, who also preceded him in death.Paul is survived by his three sons: Jeffrey S. Hillier and his wife, Kathryne, of Dallas, Texas; Gary R. Hillier and his wife, Kim, of Trophy Club, Texas; and Gregg W. Hillier of Portland, Oregon.  He is also survived by his two grandsons: Travis W. Hillier of Chicago, Illinois; and Cameron J. Hillier of Asheville, North Carolina.In addition to his parents and wives, Paul was preceded in death by his brother, Robert A. Hillier, and his sister-in-law Sue S. Hillier.A graveside committal service for Paul will be held at noon, Saturday, June 16, at Lupher Chapel Cemetery in Franklin, PA.  A memorial service will be held in Dallas at a later date.The Gardinier Funeral Home, Inc., 1315 Chestnut Street, Franklin, PA has been entrusted with arrangements.To send cards, online condolences or for further information, friends and family are invited to visit www.gardinierfuneralhome.com.

  3. jeff, gary and greg i had been waiting for a notice from pwc for more details but must have missed it paul was a special person in my years in dallas he met us at the airport upon bette’s first visit and was always a good friend when i took more than a few days off i always left confident that paul would handle any problems which arose i made a few visits to dallas after retirement but discontinued when my son left texas paul on the other hand continued to visit me in laguna beach until 2-3 years ago he was an easy guest happy to do no more than revisit the good old days i shall miss him and know you will miss him much more if you ever visit laguna beach we would enjoy seeing you bette has sent a contribution to the hillier school roger and bette marcellin
