Nancy Jane King

Nancy Jane King, aged 90, of Franklin, Pennsylvania, passed away on December 18, 2025. Born December 4, 1935, in Franklin, she was the daughter of Plummer A. and Ethel (Hoffman) Cross. On February 23, 1956, she married Ralph R. King, who preceded her in death in 1984.

Known for her love of reading, gardening, and family gatherings, Nancy Jane King was devoted to her family and cherished time spent with her grandchildren. She was especially fond of blue flowers and enjoyed sharing her homemade brownies and holiday breads at family events.

She is survived by her children: Cathy Shields of Franklin; Michael R. King and wife Micki of Seven Fields, PA; Sally Williams and husband Arthur of Knightdale, NC; Linda Sabousky and husband Tom of Oil City; Peggy Taylor and husband John of Oil City; and Karol King of Franklin. Her legacy continues through her grandchildren Alan Williams, Michael Williams and wife Martika, Sara Sabousky and her companion Darren Gardinier, Samantha Sabousky, Erin Perdue and fiancé Noah Cooley, and great-grandchildren Jaylen and Wyatt Gardinier, and Zoey Williams.

She was preceded in death by her son Richard R. King; siblings Richard R. Cross and Della F. Long; half-brother Buster Cross; and son-in-law Dan Shields.

Visitation will be held at Gardinier-Warren Funeral Home and Cremation Services, Inc., 1315 Chestnut Street, Franklin, PA, on Monday, December 22, from 2 p.m. until the service at 5 p.m with Rev. Dr. Darrell Greenawalt, pastor of Christ Church Franklin, officiating.
